Managing social media profiles: Tips to keep you on track
In our digitally driven world, businesses must not only have a social media presence but they must use their social media profiles wisely. If you’re managing a portfolio of social media profiles it may get overwhelming at times, but with good organisation and a few tips, you can stay on track.
- Create a social media content calendar with Facebook posts, tweets, LinkedIn updates, YouTube videos, Instagram images and more. We recommend planning at least one month in advance, this way you won’t need to take time everyday to think about what to post. Content calendars can also be seasonal, so discuss topical issues with your client and know what they want to post and when.
- Use a social media profile management tool to save you time and effort. There are many applications that allow you to manage all of your social media profiles on a single platform: SocialFlow, Hootsuite, Everypost and Buffer are some of the most popular. Rather than having to update every social media profile individually, do it all at once with a single click. But keep in mind that for some social media sites like LinkedIn, you won’t use the same type of content as you would for Instagram.
- Set aside a certain amount of time every day to answer comments, questions and complaints and engage with followers and fans. Engagement is crucial on social media, so don’t let it fall by the wayside.
